Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma of English literature. Mitchell began her career in the field of radio and television reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed situated in Washington DC. Then she joined NBC News Washington two years following that as an general reporter. The year 1980 marked the beginning of her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign correspondent of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell was host and panelists on the TV program Meet the Press. She was part of the panel during 1988 Presidential Debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her work in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on the White House first for NBC News between the years 1981-88, which was during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. She reported on a variety of notable stories, including arms control the budget tax reform and the Iran-contra scandal and was frequently together with the president Reagan to meetings alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
